A LITTLE MASKIBOO STORY

The late starflower

Solstice Sprig prepared the starflower for the turning of the season. The gathering began, the lanterns glowed, and the flower stayed firmly closed. Everyone waited for the familiar burst of petals.

Sprig invited them to describe what they hoped the new season would bring. As the last wish was spoken, one petal opened. Nobody could say whether the flower had been late. The waiting had become part of the celebration.
