A LITTLE MASKIBOO STORY
The pastry that would not go dark
Ember Apricot baked pastries that glowed until they were shared. After a busy supper, one pastry still lit the kitchen. Everyone insisted they had already eaten. Ember followed its warm glow toward the quiet washing-up corner.
A helper had been too busy clearing plates to sit down. Ember divided the last pastry and pulled up two stools. The kitchen grew dimmer, but the evening felt brighter.
